Joshua 1:8 says, “Do not let the Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night… then you will be prosperous and successful.”
What would you say defines success in your life?
As a women we would probably say it is our career, our friendships, our time given at school or church volunteering, or anything that takes our time and energy and makes us feel good. All of these things keep us busy and can make us feel like we are successful.
Being busy does not mean you are a success. We must ask God,”what have you called me to do?” “Is this opportunity from you or just something to fill my time and drain my energy?”
I believe we are drained many times because we are doing things that we are not called to do. We may even be doing them out of guilt.
First of all “who we are” should come from God (and who we are in Him) and not have any bearing on “what we do.”
A wise man once said, “You can’t be led by need, you must be led by the Holy Spirit.” There will always be need, but you aren’t always the one to fill that need. If you are doing what God has told you to, you will find yourself happy, even in the busyness.
Balance is the key to a happy and successful life. A lot of times we see no fruit in what we are doing. We find ourselves complaining because of all we have to do? God will give you the grace to do what you are suppose to be doing. You will also see fruit in your life in those areas. When you see no grace and no fruit than those things are not helping you fulfill your purpose. Learn to follow your heart and to listen to God and then you will find yourself on the path of purpose and success.
